About DSU CARES

DSU CARES

 

DSU CARES is a LEARN & WORK IN UTAH initiative supported by the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) and the Talent Ready Utah team, in partnership with the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE).

The program provides tuition assistance for short-term education to Utah residents whose employment has been affected by COVID-19.

$20/credit – a 90% savings off regular tuition. In addition, all course and material fees are included in the cost.

Primarily offered in the evenings or online, classes are designed to fit around other responsibilities.

All credit-bearing programs lead to degree pathways, helping you meet future career and personal goals.

Financial Aid

In addition to the low tuition cost ($20/credit) and inclusion of all course materials and associated fees, students can apply for additional financial aid to assist with living expenses while enrolled in the program.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must have:

  1. Completed high school (or equivalent) AND
  2. Been displaced, furloughed, laid-off, or underemployed due to COVID-19.

A two-semester, double certificate program that prepares students for entry-level jobs in small business management, marketing, logistics, human resource management, etc.

Prepares students to apply for testing and certification as an EMT through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.

A non-credit career exploration and preparation course to help students develop and share their personal brand and enhance their digital presence.

Limited to 15 students per semester block (7-week session).

Most of the certificate programs can be completed in as little as a one semester. All other programs can be completed in two semesters.
